Disappointed in this overall. I picked this up because the second book in the series was chosen for my book club and I’m honestly not looking forward to it.
The writing was not my favourite, the characters were unlikeable, and the book was incredibly slow with very little actually happening. I rolled my eyes constantly at how socially inept Molly is portrayed to be throughout the book. I hate when main characters are portrayed this way.
The “mystery” of all this was no mystery at all. To put it in Molly’s terms, the bad eggs did it. And the bad eggs are clear from the beginning.

“I am your maid. I know everything about you. But when it comes down to it: what is it that you know about me?”

I’m on a quest to finish my physical TBR and I have the ARC for the third book in this series.

Honestly, I enjoyed this book from the start. Miss. Molly Maid (my tism girlie pop) was such an interesting narrator and character. She was just so wholesome and hardworking, yet the way she trusted so easily irked me cause I could easily tell which characters were going to betray her the moment she shared something secret. I cannot wait to read more of her old-fashioned quirks as the series progresses. (Also, my jaw was on the floor at those final chapters).

Also, Molly’s backstory? HELLO? I cannot wait to learn about that one as well.

Seeing the socially inept girl slowly make friends and find a new found family was truly wholesome.

My god, I was so locked in. I was trying to solve this mystery from the first chapter. I was able to get pieces here and there, but not the final killer.

I really wanted to like this but I feel like it was just slightly off the mark for me. The mystery itself was pretty solid and all the characters had potential but it was just a little off for me regarding Molly being ND. The attempt at representation was close but not quite there to the point where some parts were frustrating to read. Also felt like there were some really dark parts out of nowhere that were unnecessary. Overall I enjoyed reading it because I love this genre but it was not quite there for me.
