Frustrating tropes. Toxic/controlling male lead. Any actual depth or intrigue is just glossed over. The whiskey metaphor is way over done and low-key insensitive? Alcohol use disorder isn’t fun or cutesy? I could be overthinking it though.

holy shit what an emotional rollercoaster that was! if i got a dollar for the number of times i had to scream “are you fucking kidding me” while reading this, i’d be rich. this book is chaos and toxicity personified but i loved it anyway. it was so beautifully written too, kandi steiner is an absolute poet. so emotional, so raw and heavy, it was absolute genius - the kind of once-in-a-lifetime books. it’s one of those books that will keep you up reading until 5 in the morning because you need to know how this train wreck ended!!!!
a heads up - this book is toxic! a big red flag! has a lot of tropes (said tropes include: miscomm, cheating, characters being dumb as fuck, right person wrong time (many, many, MANY times) that I am generally not a fan of but it worked and i aTE IT UP AND LEFT NO CRUMBS
they both need to go for therapy fr and maybe i do too for enjoying this book idk i think i need a break, what a high that was.

Ahhh the slow burn- pun intended-and the hold this book had on me. B and Jamie’s story is now imbedded in me. I’m only sorry I waited so long to read this!!
This book had me on an emotional roller coaster. I was laughing, I was crying and I was devastated in some of the situations but it kept me on my toes wanting to read more.
I loved it!! I really enjoyed the way it was told from B’s point of view first and then Jamie. Knowing what both of them were thinking just made the story even better made me feel giddy reading how Jamie thought when B thought it a different way.
10/10 if you love right person wrong time type of romances.
