Perfect conclusion in every single aspect

But has Marie Brennan thought about writing these books till the end of time? It’s a self-fulfill, psychological and basic need.

„If there is any conclusion to my tale […], it is that the heart of it will never truly end.“

might have oversaturated myself on this series but this book got kinda wild and i can see it being insanely exciting for many people but to me it felt like the last season of a tv show where you feel like the writers ran out of ideas and just went off the rails a little. love this series' premise and all the characters, but maybe i should have given myself more time between books?

Behold, the greatest expedition and discovery of Lady Trent’s career!

With each book in the series having built up the reveals and discoveries of the previous entry, this one is no exception. What Isabella discovers here is beyond anything I had expected and left me shocked. This book is a great reward for the readers who have followed her life and career, making for a very satisfying ending to her tale.

What I always find fascinating about these books is how the author depicts small cultural differences, like gestures for silence, disagreement and other meanings, as well as the roles of women and men in those foreign societies. It is subtly rich and much deeper than we usually get in fantasy.

The Memoirs of Lady Trent has been an absolute standout series, and I look forward to reading the last (spin-off) book!

Decent enough finish to the series. Definitely took it in a direction I was not expecting. I feel like the first few books in the series had a lively joy the later books never quite recaptured.
