This was definitely thrilling. True to Blake Crouch it didn't have the ending I was expecting. Nothing about this book was what I was expecting it to be. This was a creepy and thrilling weekend read.

I know it is not fair to this book but I was extremely disappointed in it. I gave it a 3 stars because it was well written. To be fair my disappointment was all in expectations. I was expecting something else and basically got an average thriller. I should have done a little research before buying. Didn't realize it was one of his older books and definitely didn't realize what it was actually about.

Jfc poor Lana.

didn't love it, felt very geared towards men

Not as captivating as his other book that I have read. Typically I enjoy multiple perspectives but I found this one hard to follow and too many characters to remember. Satisfying ending.

This is a great read if you are in the mood for some fast moving hokum. It's a well plotted story nicely told, and short chapters help it all to rattle along at a great pace. The juxtaposition of two timelines adds interest and provides a few opportunities for very effective storytelling. Crouch nearly drops the ball right at the very end, which felt a bit rushed, but I'll forgive that.

Well worth the read, and if you do so you will be much better informed than whoever wrote the blurb, which is wildly inaccurate. I can see why some people have got upset about that, but my advice is to ignore it, go in with an open mind, and enjoy the ride.
