Let me just say that I'm not a fan of m/m or f/f ROMANCE novels. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind same sex stories, IF they're only about sex (Erotica), but I generally have a hard time enjoying same-sex romances because when I read, I can't connect with the characters in the same way as I can with m/f - I can't feel what they feel or see myself as them in my mind's eye. *shrug*

That said, like Ed & Trevor in this story, I found that Chassie was the bridge that crossed me over. And as such, I was pleasantly surprised to find myself enjoying this story so much. So much so that I've spent a few hours today ignoring my children (thank goodness for their father and pizza delivery) in order to read it. Plus, the naughtier side of me was giving Chassie a mental high-five the whole time. Lucky bitch. ;)

Fave quote:
"Without her, he’d be lost on so many levels. She’d taught him he was worthy of love. She’d showed him how to love without conditions. She’d proven understanding and acceptance were not parts of love that could be parceled out, but real, honest love needed all those components to be successful, fulfilling and long lasting."

The icing on the cake?
When Ed said, "...I realize for the first time that you really don’t fall for a person’s gender or appendage so much as you fall for the person. And I’ll be damned if I’m not falling for you, Chassie West Glanzer.”

It brought a smile to my face and sealed the deal.

FYI: There is lots of sex in this book -- graphic sex at that, especially between the males, but nestled between the pages is a love story - unconventional as hell (for Wyoming (the setting), at least) - but well worth the read.

Thank you to the usual GR pimps for talking up this story and having it pique my interest with their feedback. I'm glad that I gave it a chance. :)

I read this book before the first in the series where you find out Edgard and Trevor are together. I feel even worse for Chassie after reading the first book. In all honesty I didn't really feel anything between her and Edgard, and I feel like it is almost forced to make it seem like they'll all be happy together. I think Chassie should have stayed angry at Trevor longer, and I think she should have given him up and found her own happiness. After reading the first book, I don't see how I'm supposed to believe Trevor loves her and wants to stay with her esp. after what she saw and heard when Edgard confronted him and what Channing saw and heard Trevor confess. I was rather annoyed that Chassie listened to Channing and after a day was ready to head back and fight for her husband, and why was it ok for him to be with another man but not a woman?! And he admitted after they had sex and he seemed to be in space that he was thinking about Edgard... what kind of woman stays with a man who is thinking about someone else after they have sex?! I just think Chassie is very weak... I get that she was alone after he brother and father died, but I'd rather be alone than with a man who is in love with someone else!

Lorelei James managed to write a polyamorous Western Romance and do it well. I appreciated that she didn't just lean into the stereotypes about poly people only being interested in sex. She did a great job of diving into the emotional lives of all three main characters. It was great to see Trevor and Ed come back into the story and Chassi added extra depth. The spice in this book was off the charts, but not played out in a stereotypical way. I appreciated the storyline with all of the family drama and money troubles that was woven throughout and added additional depth to the story. Overall, I really liked this installment in the series.

I love Trevor and Edgard from Colby and Channing's book. My heart broke when Trevor wouldn't express his feelings for Edgard and Edgard couldn't compromise. This book jumps into Chassie and Trevor marriage and trying to keep her dead fathers farm going. Chassie alway knew Trevor kept something to himself but it isn't till Edgard turns up that the secret doesn't come out when Chassie catches both of them in a comprising position.
I love that Chassie is open to the possibility of Edgard permanently included in their marriage but also Edgard brings out the best in both Chassie and Trevor. Stuff they didn't realise they were missing. Quite a few old characters come into this book which is nice and Colt starts to show the real him without booze and drugs. Great HEA.

Like I said in one of my previous reviews Lorelei James is one of my favorites. These books bring the characters so much to life that I almost believe that I could go to crook county and meet up with the mccay gang.

This one is really good, I feel for chassie with the hurt she must have felt and while I dont necessarily love her husband as the main character, edward is nice. Overall a great book.

Not for me. It's been a while since I've read any books in this series, so I don't know if that's why this one is not working for me or if it's just the characters/storyline.

I'm disappointed because I really liked Trever and Ed in book one and was looking forward to more about them, but meh.

I made it half way through and I'm just going to put it down. Maybe I'll just skip this one and read the others.
