I really like this book, it has everything I love: mystery, political maneuvering, interesting fantasy setting, fights and deep feelings of all kinds.
And a gay romance.
Sure, the book is not perfect, no piece of media is, but I love the fact that I can pick up a book with deep meaningful themes, interesting worldbuilding and all that good stuff, with a bi protagonist who gets to fall in love with another man and that, and generally Existing as a Bisexual Person In Society NOT be one of the hardships he has to overcome. Coming out and coming of age stories are good and important but it's just nice to have this option too.
And a gay romance.

One sentence. I loved it. I'm reading it again after watching donghua many times and The Untamed drama also many times.
To be honest I don't really remember when was the exact time I started to read it for the first time (I guess when the translation on Exiled Rebels started.. so it has to be more than a year maybe two?). But since the translation ended in August last year, I read it from the beginning soon after as a whole again, and then again.. and only now I can somehow write this not really a review.
Still, as of now I have the hangover for everything ( drama, donghua, and the book).. so I guess I have to start TGCF ...again too
