I wasn’t a big fan of the writing. I had to quit it…
I have NO WORDS!! Ughhh this book broke me!
I got this as an ARC and this is Nicole’s debut book.

This is one of those series that you are so excited, so ready to read. But you’re not. Nothing can make you ready for the words and emotions on these pages. I feel lighter, but also heavier after finishing this series. I debated writing 3 separate reviews, but I don’t want to give anything away. I loved that I went into this blind besides the blurb for the first book. So instead, each will have some little bits. Plus, each book/review will include my favorite quotes from it as well.
•For the souls who feel lost or misunderstood, this is for you. You are not alone.
•Each chapter being given an Oliver Masters quote.
•The Prologue didn't leave me wanting answers, it actually left me wanting more hints.
•Mia's introduction to Ollie. The way she noticed all his details, the way he saw her.
•Ollie listening, his understanding. No matter the troubles Mia shared.
•Mia finding comfort and companionship in Zeke.
•The places that became Mia and Ollie's.
•When Ollie read to Mia.
•No matter the pain and destruction, Ollie and Mia never hid from each other.
•I needed a moment after chapter 12. And I'm glad I took it! I needed a clear head for chapter 13!
•I'm pretty sure I woke the neighbors during the football scene.
•I won't say anything past New Years....I can't.
Make a playlist of the music throughout this book. It made all the difference reading the series!
My Favorite Quotes:
•"Why do I feel like you just took something from me?"
•"I want to be seen by you, Mia."
•"I was doomed from day one, Mia."
•'He became my drug and dose of medicine wrapped up in one tall and beautiful, tattooed pill.'
•"You bring me croissants every Saturday, and I'll gladly bear your children."
•"I need you to feel for me, and once you do, I need you to stay."
•"I'm all in; whatever’s left of me, is in with you."
•"It’s all or nothing, Mia."
•"All i’m asking is for you to stay with me for as long as you can."
•"You have to stay with me even when I'm gone you, hear me? Don't let it burn out. Promise me."
•"Close your eyes, Mia"

A great start to a series. At first I kind of hated this book because I felt like the character was trying to be very y/n coded, but my view quickly changed. I loved seeing Mia’s internal struggles, but also her gains. I enjoyed how Ollie and Mia just seem to get eachother, and how they just know what the other one is thinking.

A beautiful and emotional ride…
A girl who couldn’t feel anything and the boy who felt everything too much. They meet in a institution whose purpose is to reform delinquent young adults and although Mia doesn’t want to get too close because she feels she always alienated people because of her inability to feel emotions, Ollie feels drawn to her and sees through her. She is battling some heavy stuff from her past she cannot remember as well and while she is doing that and adapting to the that new place, a bond starts forming between these two. Ollie believes in Mia ability to heal and feel and supports her as she goes through her journey of healing. It is a beautiful journey and Nicole’s writing style is absolutely poetic. I love it so much and could not recommend it enough.
(This book covers some heavy topics so be sure to check TW but I think it is all appropriately inserted in the plot story and not graphically described)I

tw: sexual assault, abuse.
Nicole Fiorina’s writing is truly poetic and I’m finding myself falling for Ollie Masters. That is all.
