This book expresses a lot of questions and thoughts I have now and then. It happened Several times that I would stop, close the book and just stare faraway... First chapter was alright but as I went deep in the book, page by page, I started to get shivers and chills. Every story is connected to each other yet have long year gaps. I kind of guessed what was going to happen in the end but I still enjoyed it and could read it 100 times. This book is a jewel in the crown.
A very mesmerizing read. I loved each of the stories within the novel, and the backward flowing of time to unravel the story was genius.

Beautifully written but ultimately disappointing. Still, three stars for being engaging and beautiful.
While this was easy to get through and definitely held my attention, overall it felt like the bones of a story - just the concept without being fleshed out fully, which prevented it from having the profundity that it felt like the author expected it to convey.
The travelling back in time to explain things was a cute quirk but didn't add much to the story since there wasn't much of a reveal or an unwrapping of layers of meaning each time, it was just a different story with some repeated motifs.
Because the characters changed every time and we hardly got to know them, and they seemed to carry very little in between incarnations, it was hard to care about them. They didn't develop or grow through their many lives.
I couldn't even care about them dying at the end, it was just irritating that after centuries of trying and failing to be together, they had such a pointless and miserable end. If the whole idea was that a few hours of happiness were worth centuries of being torn apart from each other, this possibly needed to come across much more strongly.

A Journalist named Eric Seven finds himself drawn to an island in 2073 where he meets a woman he finds irresistible, Merle. She always shows up unexpectedly and seems to know something he doesn’t. Something is amiss however, as Eric finds himself forgetting his past, forgetting why he is drawn to this island as he is surrounded by mysterious islanders and their relaxing tea. Little does Eric know that he is the last chapter in a series of Eric’s that have different stories under different moons. This book has tales of ghosts, vampires, immortality and ultimately, love. This story is a good transition for those wishing to integrate into horror or fantasy as it has elements of both but they are not overwhelming.
Topics in the novel include unrequited love through time and space, the idea of soul mates, immortality, and the idea of reincarnation. The book is separated into seven parts by seven different moons, such as the harvest moon and the strawberry moon. Sometimes the main character of each segment in Eric and sometimes Eric is in the background while another character is affected by his story. The book flows well and starts and ends in the same place which brings all loose ends together. The tone gets darker as the story progresses but is written very simply and fast paced. It is hard to put this book down and is short enough to be read in one sitting. Readers will want to figure out why the two characters keep showing up together, whether it be as mother and son, ghosts, vampires, and far off lovers. There are elements of horror in the novel when it comes to planes being shot out of the sky and a vampire coming to drink the blood of children, but there is also fantasy as the tale evolves through phases of the moon, with haunting overtones of what it means to find your soulmate in every walk of life.

Meh. Acabei me frustrando.
