The oddest book I've read so far from the Man Booker long list. Non-naturalistic characterisation and off-kilter dialogue. It's all a bit weird, which I think is good.
This book wasn’t for me. There was no real character or plot development so it felt like nothing changed throughout the book. Too meandering and went into far too much detail about points that weren’t central to the plot- there’s only so much you can read about jellyfish before it becomes pointless. The mother-daughter relationship was the part that interested me the most and probably the dynamic that kept this from becoming a DNF.
