This was a very interesting book about aging and how society treats old people. There are a lot of important conversations that this book brings about, which I appreciated. It also had an engaging plotline and kept me intrigued throughout.

Very well done. This book is a lot to chew on. I can't say that it's completely unique or I've never read anything like it, but I do think it was very well done and very readable. There is an eery sense of disorientation throughout the entire book that is never fully resolved and it's very well executed. Overall, I would totally read more from this author, and I think this book was well accomplished.

“We Spread” makes you see and feel the loneliness of old age, what it feels like to be old. That age isnt something to fear, that being “old” is a part of living a beautiful and full life. It was sad and sweet all at once.

Its definetly Iain Reids style of, quick confusing changes, not tell reality from fiction — very psychological. I dont know if I can say Ive figured out what was real and what wasnt. Im a little disappointed in that, but maybe I just didnt pick up on everything.

That being said, I think I liked the psychological thriller of “Foe” more. “We Spread” was definetly worth the read tho. If all Iain Reid books are made to movies, this will be a great one to see depicted.

If there's one thing Iain Reid is going to do, it's make an unsettling book you can't put down.

Oooft my heart!! This book got me right in the feelings. I was legitimately bawling only 20 pages in. [a:Iain Reid|4112760|Iain Reid|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1456176115p2/4112760.jpg] really knows how to paint a picture that is tragic and beautiful and painful to experience.

And to have a main character that is of a demographic of people who's experiences and stories are so rarely values or even considered - it was a truly unique and incredibly important story to tell.

I work with the elderly, and have worked with people at the end of their lives. I also have a loved one in residential care - and I absolutely loved the way this book shined a light on what it must feel like for people going through this time of their life. The fear, the vulnerability, mixed with a yearning for what once was, and apprehension of what is to come.

This is an instant hall-of-famer for me. I've already pushed it into the hands of a family member who also adored it, and I think it will forever hold a special place in my heart.
