This was actually a really good book! We are following Reese who wakes up in the cab and doesn’t know how she got there.
This book took a turn that I was not excepting to see. I recommend going into this book completely blind! It’s a wild ride of twist and turns that leave your head spinning when it’s finally done.

A good story idea, but with a completely unsatisfying ending- the kind that makes you think a chapter was ripped out.

Wow! This book was a trip and I found myself holding my breath the entire time. I can totally see this turned into a movie or an HBO short series! Eager to read more by the author. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this pre-release in exchange for my honest review.
I really liked the time frame this book was written in. I also think it's a decent book for a detective/homicide book. I only rate it 3 stars because it wasn't anything too impressive... I sort of predicted the ending, and I've read or seen a lot of movies with the idea of a person with amnesia being involved in a murder.
Liv wakes up in a cab with no memory of how she got there, with no purse, and no phone. She also discovers a bloody knife in her coat pocket. When the cab pulls up to her location, she knocks on the door to her apartment to ask her roommate to let her in, but she finds a couple living in her place. The problem is that every time Liv falls asleep she forgets what has happened since the last time she slept. In fact, she only has memories from two years ago. The chapters alternate between Liv in the now, Liv 2 years ago, and the female detective working the case. I was hooked from the first chapter until the end. I needed to find out about the bloody knife and what happened two years ago.

The concept of this book is SO good and I truly think this story would make for a good movie. Unfortunately, the book for me was just...fine. At times, the pacing was off and the reveals weren't as twisty as I was hoping for.
