Pleasantly surprised by Stay Awake. needed a quick change up read and figured what better than a thriller. I am normally not the biggest fan of thrillers due to fatigue from the same gotcha elements and name changes and too quick wrap ups in the last 10 pages of a book. While Stay Awake doesn't break the mold, it keeps tension going throughout the entirety of the book and has a well paced unraveling of the past with the present. yes, there are some hokey medical things but it didn't detract from my reading experience given I expect some of that with this genre in general. I do expect most thriller fans to enjoy this and will be recommending to many of my friends.

Stay awake....I had a hard time doing just that while reading this. I did not enjoy this book. It was not gripping & it was all over the place for me. It was underwhelming and while it started out what I thought would be a solid read, it fell off the tracks for me rather quickly.

I don’t know if it was the narrator on the audiobook but I really didn’t enjoy this at all. The characters were anything, it was overly descriptive and a stupid ‘twist’… one of those ‘everything wraps us’ situations. Would have DNFd but didn’t have another audiobook so finished it.

Started off as a forgettable thriller and ended with one of the most unsatisfying and unfulfilling endings I’ve ever seen. So many unresolved questions and such a rushed and cramped ending. The story dragged on and built up so much just to fall completely flat with a meaningless “And then they all hugged and became best friends” ending. If you’re going to write a thriller with zero interesting characters or any kind of development of them, at the very least make your plot airtight.

Read this because I was in a rut, can’t say it’s really done much but pass (waste) some time.

My New Favorite Book.
I loved this book from start to finish. It was a mix of the TV series "Blindspot" and "Gone Girl". I highly recommend this book.
I read Megan's book, "Escape Room." That book was a 5-star rating for me as well.
I received this galley from NetGalley.
