A great essay on feminism. Nothing surprising or new for someone that's read a lot on the topic but a great one for starting the conversation and looking at the nuances of what feminism can mean to many.

Lacks inclusivity due to its binary cisheteronormativity but still interesting

A good conversation-starter, though Adichie's perpetuation of the gender binary was problematic to me. I had expected more from this book, but that may be because of its continued hype.

A short essay coined into a swift small 1 or 2 sitting worth of reading, which masterfully portrays why it's important to for us all to be feminists, why it needs to be called feminism and not humanism or any other term which dilutes the suffrage, what are the common terms or ideologies of opposition we come across in our close circles for being called or self proclaimed a feminist, and why it's important to stand up for women in a history we share of un equalness or non equitable ness of gender roles, expectations, voices and value and most importantly representation.

I like how Chimamanda is able to beautifully bring together based on sharing a few experiences without being preachy why it is important for feminism to be around and taken seriously in the present, and why we should partake.
