Cute book. The art is rendered in a simple, cartoony style with fun, expressive faces, painted in acrylics and watercolors. The story involves a leprechaun coping with modern life when somebody builds a house over his hole in the ground. There’s a bit of wry humor and a lot of wonder. I question if the ransacking robbers preclude this book from being a good bedtime read, and I do wonder if this book is an adult tale told with children’s illustrations, but the fairy tale element should entertain young readers, along with the story’s gentle moral of the importance of friendship.

This book is rated pretty high, but I wasn't a fan. There's not anything wrong with it, really, there was just something a little off about it that I didn't like.
