This was/is, once again, one of my favorite Chris Bohjalian's books. It is a wonderful mystery that kept me guessing all the way through.

I loved the beginning of each chapter in a Double Bindish sort of way to give you possible insight or clues to the mystery. I would like to think that I am very good at solving these mysteries, however, the reality is, I don't want to solve them. I want to be taken for a ride through the book and have the inner story revealed as the author has intended. Chris never disappoints in this area!

I took as long as I could to read this book. I was forcing myself to slow down, it was coming to the end that I did not want to face. I wanted to know, but I didn't want the story to continue.

My thanks to Netgalley and Doubleday for providing me with this advance readers copy.

I wanted to love this book, because Chris Bohjalian is one of my favorites. I didn't really feel like I was invested in any of the characters. That said, though, I really enjoyed the ending, and never saw it coming.

Great story, hard to put down. I loved it!

As a mystery, this was superb. I definitely read it quickly in order to figure out 'who done it.' The subject matter - various forms of parasomnia (a new word to me) - was very unusual and a bit unsettling. I learned something while reading an entertaining, though ultimately sad, novel.

This wasn't great. I loved the feel of this book. The creepiness. This is a very hard subject. Not just about sleepwalking but what they call "sleep sex". I never knew about this sort of sleepwalking. It is an interesting subject but this book gets a bit graphic. The ending was a bit of a twist but as you hit part 2, it's gets pretty obvious.

I didn't care for the narrator and, aside from feeling bad for a poor cat apparently getting bathed, didn't find the story interesting enough to try to keep going beyond the very beginning. Reading it might go better, but I don't think I'll try.

I have enjoyed many novels by Bohjalian, but this one was hard to read. It was slow moving, and frankly kind of boring at times. I kept expecting a "big twist," but sadly there was none.

I enjoyed hearing Liana's voice throughout the book. The setting is summer/fall of 2000, and I vividly recall that time in our nation's history. It was also interesting and eye opening to learn so much about sleepwalking.
