There was a slowly building tension during this short novella that had me clenching my teeth and holding my breath, afraid to read what would happen next, something that very few horror novels really do to me despite my love for the genre.

i thought i was going to get a spooky folk horror novella but instead i received a boring book about politics. i was also disappointed with the author's choice not to use quotation marks; i felt this made it difficult to tell who was speaking and what they were saying.
