A solid conclusion to an unusual duology.

Not as good as the first one, but just as satisfying with the character dynamics and pacing.

You definitely need to read the first book to understand this one. That said, it was a fun sequel, watching people face the consequences of their actions, both good and bad.

3.5 stars. I have to say I enjoyed the first one a lot more. I wasn't a fan of the plot of this second one, it felt like an unnecessary sequel. The first book could have been a bit longer, reuniting Houndstooth and Hero. Anyway, this was a quick and entertaining read.

I enjoy this world so much. I think my main problem with this, though, was that I did not understand Houndstooth's frenzy for Hero. I don't think the reader was shown enough of their relationship to warrant his behavior, and it make him very unsympathetic.
