After reading some of Shakespeare and Sophocles in Literature class last semester, I felt like I needed more classical works under my belt. This was magically gifted to me by my father who said this was his favorite translation, and I absolutely loved it. Many of these characters names have sporadically appeared in some of my favorite shows and books written in the last century, and I can't help but notice the influence of ancient Greek mythology on all of them. Already bought the Iliad by Emily Wilson for this fall and couldn't be more excited!

Like I always do, I find it difficult to judge such an old book. This book was more adventure than the Iliad and definitely easier to read and easier to understand, I thought. Since it was a sequel, you are already familiar with the characters and the world is it was a little bit easier to jump right into the book.
