Wow, this book will grab you by the throat, push you up against the wall and seriously f**c with your mind. And you'll enjoy every moment of it.
This felt almost like a bully romance at first, poor Aflora was treated so badly by both Shade and Kols. I totally and utterly wanted to throat punch them both. But then we start seeing another side to each guy and they rather grew on me and along with Zeph they make great partners for Aflora.
There are so many mysteries swirled together and just as one strand unravels, and we learn something new, another puzzle pops up to take its place. I was utterly captivated and completed the story in one sitting. Just couldn't put it down, desperate to read the next page and find out what would befall our beleaguered heroine next.
Aflora is a very gentle and kind soul, but that isn't to be mistaken for weakness. She's thrown totally into the deep end of life at the Midnight Fae Academy without even a kiddy arm band to stop her drowning. This is a culture that clearly believes in being cruel to be kind, or perhaps they're just arrogant, thoughtless dicks. I'm still not sure if I like Shade, if I bumped into him in the street I might just poke him in the eye on Aflora's behalf. Kols and Zeph grew on me, sometimes like a bad spot that you wanted to lance, but grow they did.
I only hope that Lexi C Foss is busy writing because I really, really need to read book 2. Like read-it-yesterday need to read it.

I really enjoyed this new take on a PNR. The FMC, Aflora, is absolutely brilliant and I love watching her discover her inner strength and resilience. The MMC’s were all on my crap list for a while, but I enjoyed how their characters developed over the course of the book. The ending definitely leaves you wondering what is going to happen next!
reread
i forgot how instalust to instalive this was. like a lot of time does pass. it just doesn’t read like that.
anyway yes to all things in my previous review
————-
i’ve picked this book up and put it down multiple of times bec of what shade does in chapter one(or two don’t remember). it’s totally rape and it’s creepy. however i read hell fae captive and we see shade and aflora being happy together so my curiousity won and i pushed through.
a part of feels like i can’t complain about helpless mfc is bec i wasn’t promised someone physically strong. i know her powers will evolve but man i wish she some oomph to her. however i question if the author is capable of that bec cami in hell fae captive was similliar despite all her training.
the men are just gross tbh. i think it’s supposed come off as their destined for each other but it’s just yuck.
as usual in this universe of books i am curious as to what’s happening in world building and the non romance plot. i’ll cont and see if i can push through the yucky if not down right rapey behaviour by the mmcs.

This was such a great introduction to these characters and world. I love the different types of fae and the powers. The secrets, questions, animosity, treachery, hidden secrets and bonds.
We’ve just scratched the surface and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Wow! This book was Everything! Lexi Foss creates such an intriguing world of magic you left dying for more! I read the prequel to this series first so I knew a little bit about the Midnight Fae world, it made me excited for the series but I was so blown away with just how fantastic this was! Midnight Fae Academy starts off with a bang! You're thrown into this new world with all these elements and rules and bonds, it's exciting and consuming! I loved Aflora, I think she handled everything extremely well considering she was thrust into this situation completely unwillingly! I was in a hate/love relationship with the guys, this forbidden and so tempting, well always crave what we can't have. I love the surprising relationship that the prince and warrior have! I have to say this book its sooooo freaking HOTT!!! I feel like I devoured this one so fast! There are so many secrets and pieces of the puzzle that are missing! I'm so hooked on this series and the characters, I'm dying to dig into the next book!

I can see why this book has such a good rating, the world building and character development is on point. When I started the series I hadn't realized that it was reverse harem, but I was pleasantly surprised when her relationships began developing between the three male characters. I look forward to continuing this series. If you enjoy reverse harem, you will like this series. There is not a lot of romance however there is a decent enough amount of seggsy time. It isn't a case of insta love, which makes me glad. The characters all have reason to not want to be together, but their draw is too strong to deny. I can tell I'm going to like this series.
