soooo conflicted with this one. the author’s prose is SO stunningly beautiful and poetic, but i absolutely could not stand the characters. i think if i had read this book when i was 21, it would have changed my life. but now at 24, i just see two very mentally ill ppl who are in a toxic relationship that’s supposed to be beautiful. maybe a hot take who knows. rushed thru it to get the cringe outta the way.

This book was written in such a unique and interesting way. I started listening originally to it, but found I couldn’t make sense of how it was being read until I compared it to the first page of the book. It’s almost like a play - with narrators, and characters thoughts and dialogue and settings. It’s not at all what I was expecting. But I have to say, while I did enjoy the book, this book went from a 4 to almost perfect simply because of the very last chapter and the acknowledgments. If nothing else, read it for that.
