Asks very interesting questions but doesnt really answer them imo. I found the juxtaposition between the last two chapters a bit hard to resolve yes consuming art doesnt make us good or bad people its not our responsibility but at the same time saying we can't help loving artists is a bit overly simplistic. artists aren't actually people we know we only know them through their art actually seems like a different issue. I think the division between how art feels so personal and how impersonal it actually is why consuming art by bad people feels so hard. no art is impersonal but the relationship between the art and the artist isn't personal if dat make sense

The book talks about something I think about a lot and was really grateful to have language put to it. Definitely asks more questions than it answers but I quite like that.
