Monsters is a great explanation of famous artists who have done really bad things. This book asks the question, how do we reckon with loving beautiful art made with despicable people?

As someone who identifies as an artist, this book is a great read for ones personal practice in making art.

I’ve not read anything by Dederer before but loved her laconic, meditative, honest style. Some troubling considerations in this, but I do agree with her conclusion.
