The book starts off strong and covers a really important topic. Unfortunately, Dederer goes off the rails and rambles through most of the second half of the book. It ends up weaving in and out of her own [privileged] experiences and judgements. I am not likely to read anything by this author again.

this kind of reiterated my dislike for nonfiction. I bought and read it because eleanor neale recommended it in one of her videos and usually i treat that womans word like gospel but this was just.... ordinary. I wish i got a better understanding of this but maybe it was just me and the author not gelling. im glad i gave it a go anyway.
