This is the second book in the O'Gallagher Nights series. I really like this family. Unfortunately, I didn't feel the connection between Rory and Emily that I had wanted. Maybe it was because it was a novella, but I felt like the story skipped time quite a bit, and there wasn't enough interaction between Rory and Emily to experience their connection. I will read the next book in the series.

The ending...

Sorry to say that the ending kind of ruined this novella for me. The relationship between Rory and Emily was building and then DONE and then back on in just a few pages. Then “the end”.

The O’Gallager boys continue to kill me. I absolutely love a story about a man who can turn around and change his relationship beliefs and prove that he can be a one girl kind of guy. This is exactly what you get with this story.

In this novella, we meet Rory, the cocky younger brother to Conor, from One Night Stand. We also meet Emily, a barmaid who has worked for the brothers for a year and knows that she should steer clear of Rory. He is known to be a manwhore of sorts knowing there have been many girls in and out of his bedroom. Even going as far to cut out in the middle of his shift to do the deed.

After finding Emily passed out on the stoop of the bar while walking his most recent one night stand out of the building, Rory carries her to his bed to spend the night. It was fun to see their relationship go from complete hate (on Emily’s side) to infatuation to Rory proving he could be who Emily deserved.

Just like the first novella, and I’m sure like the last one will be, I want more! Mignon has a good way of quickly sucking you in, making you care about the characters, and leave you invested and yearning for more of their story.

Grateful to have received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Few of My Favorite Quotes
“Between not having television or a car, and working doubles at O’Gallaghers, I’d been able to afford school and something more than ramen and Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. I splurged on Shapes though, because yeah, they were better than the original.”

“I want to show you I’ve changed. I want to hold your hand. I want to make you dinner on those nights you’re scrambling to figure out how you’re going to juggle food and work and studying and walking the dog.”

“Because when his cocky side was gone, and my cold indifference melted, I really enjoyed being around him.”

A fun quick read.
I enjoyed 99% of it.
One scene left me a bit in contention with the female mc and the author.
The steam was there, but only 1 scene and a bit 'lite'.
