Another fantastic collection from one of my favourite poets, this collection does feel different to his previous work, the poems are longer and they remind me of beat poetry. "Take me to the Pier Head" has real Beat feel to it. It looks like he has spent a lot of time observing everyday life, from builders bums to those "totally cool" guys with well groomed beards. The two stand-outs for me is the hauntingly chilly "Now I am become death" the mood has been captured perfectly and "Gideon Oliver Osborne" which was so funny I nearly choked from laughing... so be warned!
