This would be a great book to read to children. Magical Chinese folklore. The book itself has a very pretty cover and there are illustrations throughout. Also a great read to show that girls can take on adventures and have courage.

What a magical story! 

This MG read was fun and full of adventure. I liked how the author broke up the main story with characters telling tales of Chinese folklore to give detail to the story.

I also loved the illustrations.

My 8 year old recommended this book to me and I absolutely loved it. Lovely short chapters that are really an anthology of parables but the overall message is so beautiful.

What a wonderful middle grade book that has beautiful stories/myths from Asian culture told intermingled with a plot that sees a young girl heading out on a quest to bring fortune to her family and village.
