I read a lot of dark romance, and I'm not sure I'd closify this as that. This is more of a thriller/horror romance. However, it's fabulous and I couldn't put it down. It's very steamy, and there are a lot of twists and things I didn't see coming, and some places had me giggling. That may say something about me that I don't want to look too closely at. Anywho, I freaking loved it and it was the perfect way to spend my Halloween evening.

READ the Trigger Warnings.... First and foremost, there are alot, this book isn't for the faint of heart, so please read and take care of your mental health.

Okay, that said, 13 friends/partners go to an island to reconnect, share stories of their childhood together on the island and off. What could go wrong? Pretty much everything can. Scary stories, gory death, and an ending to just put the icing on the cake!

There is some heat, so for you heat lovers, you'll get some of that too, but if you like horror thrown in, it's the win of the year! I loved every minute, got it done in less than 24 hours, and I took breaks to eat and drink. You might have to walk away to get back to reality, tho lately, that's scary too. I do promise a great reading experience tho!

Can an Island be a living thing?

First and foremost, read the trigger warnings before you dive into this book. Some stories and what happens are not for the faint of heart.
Now that I've said that I loved the book. I grew up reading a lot of Stephen King and other horror novels on top of the romance novels I could sneak in. So this was right up my alley with the stories, murder, and s€x. Each time a story was told, I expected each new person's demise. However, it didn't always work this way. The stories were always a way to pass the time like they did as kids. But what did they learn from these stories?
I was very shocked at how quickly it all began, but the book was paced rapidly, easy to read, and you never knew what exactly to expect.
The ending has me laughing so hard, though and made the whole book well worth the read. It just goes to show how twisted the author's mind is—loved it!

Wow this was an amazing book but definitely check triggers before reading. No HEA. This was a crazy story full of horror. The island is literally alive and the 13 friends pay for violating the island. I love the scary stories told and how most of them related to something. I loved the ending and they combined all the authors and the story together. Absolutely amazing and definitely recommend for anyone looking for scary stories!

I need to unscramble my brain after reading this amazingly twisted story. I can honestly say I enjoyed all the little campfire stories that were told throughout the main story. I also never seen that ending coming.

Book: The Island of Dark Desires
Author: G.R. Loreweaver & Kaytie Marie

Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶🌶🌶
Stabbies: 🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪

Where to start? This isn't meant to be a spicy story, though there are lots of spicy scenes. But this was a Halloween type story - scary stories around the bonfires of fall.

Scary stories aren't typically my cup of tea, but this one... oh yes.... this one has so much more than just jump scares. Definitely a Halloween reread!

This book is a collection of ghost stories within another story and it had me reading between my fingers while covering my eyes. I have to say that trigger warnings exist for a reason but I was like, "Bring it on, I can take it". I had to read this in the daytime because.....yeah. If you love urban legends, gore, and steamy yet creepy tales, this is definitely the story for you. The way the authors were able to weave the individual stories around and within the main storyline was perfect and well-written. And that ending was such a twist!

A truly heart stopping thriller

The imaginations of G.R. Loreweaver and Kaytie Marie are fascinating on their own, but when you combine the two and you get a dangerous duo.
The Island of Dark Desires is a physiological thriller that will leave you quaking in your boots and sleeping with the lights on.
A cursed island and 13 friends. Something sinister is happening, and no-one is safe. Mix in some terrifying campfire stories, and you have a spellbinding thriller that won't let you put it down. I will warn you that if you have a weak stomach you may want to read The Island of Dark Desires on an empty stomach. There are many triggers so be sure to read them before you dive in.
