Happy Book Birthday!

Boys gone wild is right! And these are not just any boys, they’re the Kennedy brothers who are wreaking havoc of the most addictive kind all over Ireland while on vacation.

I love it when authors write novellas because they’re usually about characters we love and get to spend more time with. It’s even better when no matter the word count, you still get all the good stuff like drama, excitement, sexy times and interesting character interactions and Siobhan does a wonderful job at balancing all of this.

I really enjoyed getting to be with Ky and Faye while they get some alone time in Faye’s home town and then when they spend time with the entire Kennedy tribe. The continuing drama and setup for stories on all the brothers is wonderful. Watching them interact all together was so much fun. I can’t decide who I want to read after book Saving Brad comes out.

We also get more on Faye’s newfound family, I wonder if we’ll get to see more of them throughout the series, in particular Faye’s reluctant half-sister, Whitney.

Besides solidifying their coupledom, Ky and Faye squarely place themselves as a lovey dovey pair capable of producing cavities at will with all their sweetness. And if this isn’t enough, the author also includes bonus content from the first three books in the series.

The Irish Getaway is novella #3.5 in the Kennedy Boys series by Siobhan Davis. This is not a standalone and should be read in the series order. It is a new adult, contemporary romance perfect for The Kennedy Brothers fans. Told from both points of view, with a happy ending.

Far from the best in the series.

How does Siobhan feel my heat with so many emotions in one little novella?! My heart just loves this couple and loves this family. This is the perfect little dessert to fill my full heart after the conclusion of Ky’s story and a great appetizer for the set of books that are next.

Our happy couple are off to Faye’s (and Siobhan’s) native land- beautiful green Ireland. We have some amazingly romantic/my heart was about to burst moments between these two- especially after all the intensity of their trilogy it is nice to see them so comfortable and at peace in their relationship. OF COURSE, though, these are the Kennedys- drama is like air, so naturally with the whole crew in Ireland, drama follows. We also get some good sneak peeks into the men who will be sharing their stories next- and I am already anticipating all the drama and angst! I love these Kennedy boys!

What a great bonus book from Faye and Ky! They went to Ireland to get some closure before they go to college. I can’t wait to see more from them in the future :) I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

The Kennedy's summer vacation! And I LOVE books set in Ireland!! Great book and a must read! I read this advanced copy for an honest review!

Kyler and Faye :-) My favorite Kennedy Boy and his girl. They were the stars of this novella, so how could I not love it?!

The Kennedys are going to Ireland! Ky and Faye spend three weeks there on their own, and then the rest of the family joins them after that. Those first three weeks are a blissful, contented time for them. They make their own memories in Faye's home, which help her in dealing with the many memories that haunt her as she misses her parents. I LOVED when she brought Ky to her parents graves. He introduced himself to them, giving a very touching speech and ending it with “I will love her, protect her, and support her for the rest of my days. I give you my solemn promise.” It was so beautiful and so romantic!! Kyler is such a romantic guy! Who would have thought that when I first started this series with Finding Kyler, he would turn out to be a romantic?! “I will always be here for you. No matter what. My world would cease to exist if you weren’t in it, and that’s not something I’ll ever consider. I’m going to propose to you one day, Faye.” I kiss the back of her hand. “I want marriage, kids, everything, with you.” *sigh*

Anyway, I know this isn't ONLY about Ky and Faye!! So, now they go to the airport to meet the family. "Alex is leading the posse as they step out through the sliding doors, and, honestly, it’s like watching a trailer for the latest hot boys’ movie. A quiet hush settles over the place as my cousins saunter toward the exit like bona fide movie stars." The Kennedy Boys are in Ireland!!!!

Well, as you can imagine, the first thing the boys do is go to a party! In fact, they go to a number of parties. And these Kennedy Boys really like to stir up a lot of trouble! Kennedy Boys gone wild!! That's all I'm gonna say!! Oh, and Faye is definitely related...she's quite a spitfire herself!!!

This book is packed full of Kennedy adventures that you won't want to miss!!

This novella is like a transition between the books in the series.   It fits between Finding Kyler and Loving Kalvin, like a dessert course between dinner courses. The whole Kennedy family and Faye travel to Ireland.  There they will do the touristy thing plus meet with Faye's grandparents from her biological father, Adam.

Faye and Kyler are an established couple, and their scenes are definitely cheesy with all the loving and sexing.  I get a kick out of seeing Kyler so devoted and accommodating, as compared to the beginning of the series, when he was so hostile and unhappy.  They spend a couple of weeks alone, meeting with Faye's BFF's Jill and Rachel.  Then the rest of the Kennedy clan arrive, for a family vacation. There are a couple of parties, one before the Kennedy clan arrive, where we meet Luke, Faye's ex, and the first conflict in the novel.  Ky doesn't like when Luke gets all handsy with Faye, so Luke gets thrown out of the party. Next party is the Welcome to Ireland party, held in Rachel's house.  This clan loves to party and riot.

So they travel all over Ireland, submitting to Alex's very ambitious travel itinerary, visiting all the tourist places that can exist in Ireland.  I loved hearing about all these places, so I can make my own list if I ever make it to travel to Ireland. All the family got along on this trip, except for Kent who continues to cause trouble.  The whole gang has a great time, partying and getting along, with the usual bickering and spats between siblings.  The older Kennedy's also have their partying and fighting, as per usual.  Faye gets to be with her new family and gets another chance to experience her half-sister Whitney's hostility, which is based mostly on jealousy.  She's not the only girl in the house anymore.  The twins Josh and Jake are adorable. And Faye's new to her grandparents are awesome and youthful.

The story is very light and airy and fun to read, nothing too deep, just touching on all the different hot spots in the story so far and hinting to where the series is going.  As per Siobhan's style, there's a little of everything and the mixture is totally entertaining.

The perfect novella to fit in between Kyler's and Kalvin's books.
Told from both Kyler and Faye's POV, the Kennedy family is on holiday in Ireland before everyone begins school in the fall. Faye is visiting her old homestead, visiting her friends, and it's a way to introduce the Kennedy's to where she used to live.
As for an update to what's happening since the Kyler trilogy this book really sets the tone-

For Kyler, Faye, Kalvin, and Brad this will be their first year away at college. Even though Brad doesn't join them on this trip we get a tiny glimpse into Kyler's thoughts as to how he feels about his best friend and how everything went down. Faye and Ky are stronger than ever and there is little doubt that they will stand the test of time. Theirs is truly a match made by destiny and neither one will contest that fact. Even though this is their story, it's really a look at the family around them.

Keven and Kade will be returning to Harvard and we get a deeper glimpse into these older boys on this trip. What we've seen in the past is that they are two brothers united, but that isn't always the case as this novella shows us. Their stories should be very interesting since we really didn't get to spend much time with them in the previous books and I need to get a jump on those once I finish Kalvin and Brad's books, but first stories first and all.

Kent, Keaton, and Keanu (the triplets) still have high school to return to and without their older siblings around the three boys will have only each other to rely on, especially since their parents haven't reunited like everyone had hoped. Kent has the most troublesome issues to grow out of and while his siblings worry about him, they also have their own problems to deal with. Keanu seems to have his life on the right path, but Faye picked up subtle hints that perhaps he lives under the facade he puts forth for modeling and last but certainly not least is Keaton, the loveable, shy, down-to-earth Kennedy. What could he possibly do to deserve his own book? Well...I can hardly wait to find out as the triplets stories are coming out within the next year, I believe.

Ok, so The Irish Getaway is a lot of Irish tourist sightseeing, tied in with the Kennedy drama that we have come to love with this family. All the intimate looks into each sibling through both the eyes of Faye and Kyler which is awesome, especially as the series continues.
In the back, you also get bonus scenes from each of Kylers books, from his POV, Brads POV, and Kalvin's POV which help set up each of their books. (This is why I rambled up top about what was coming, I know you were wondering what I was talking about, but I did have a point.)

The actual novella ends around 65%, but then the extra stuff took up the rest of the book. I absolutely loved the extra insight and look ahead into the next stories. I can hardly wait to dive in and pickup the next Kennedy drama.

So, if you love the Kennedy family and their series, I do highly recommend this novella, but only after finishing Kyler's books.

This book shows us what life was like for Faye growing up. We get to take a closer look at her two best friends from Ireland, and what happens when the Kennedy Clan goes on vacation.

It was great to see what Kyler and Faye can be without all of the drama following them. They are able to be a couple, and do couple things together. I love seeing Faye in her element as she opens up her past life to Ky and family. I had lots of laughs reading about the Kennedy's boys exploring Ireland. This is one last hurrah before the family separates with the four oldest boys going off to college. Ky and Faye will join Keven and Kaden at Harvard while Kalvin will head down to Florida to maybe catch up with the girl he has never forgotten.

Watching Faye navigate a relationship with her biological dad, and grandparents was sweet to read. She has truly found her family after losing all the family she thought she had. This was a great way to end the focus on Faye and Kyler as we transition to the other brothers who will now work on their HEA's!

~I received an e-ARC from the author and willingly reviewed it~

Wow! The Irish Getaway really fills in the gap between Keeping Kyler and Loving Kalvin. All our favourite characters are featured in this novella about the family vacation in Ireland. While this isn't a compulsory read, I'd still recommend that you do because the events occurring in this story are the predecessors of problems which happen later in the series.

Narrated from the dual perspectives of Faye and Kyler, the two varying opinions give the story so much more depth. While I sometimes forgot whose perspective I was reading from due to being interrupted in the middle of a chapter, I figured it out soon enough and this didn't take away from my enjoyment of the tale.

A wonderful narrative which brings you back to the world of the Kennedys, all fans of The Kennedy Boys series should read this because of the drama and exciting events which are present throughout the entire novella. Siobhan Davis brings us another great, masterfully crafted tale with a lot of meaning below the surface.
