Not what I expected in some ways! I thought this book would solely be focused on gender roles both at home and in the work place, but this book expands to many other topics (some that felt kind of random). Kind of felt disjointed at times, and the drawing style wasn’t my favorite. The translation seemed good but I wonder if it might have had more of an impact in its originally published language. Some chapters that really stood out to me include: .”You Should’ve Asked,” “The Story of My Friend C.,” and “The Male Gaze.”Overall, I think this book addressed a lot of important topics in a digestible way.

I don't really know what to say beyond that it was very preach-y.

I have never felt so seen in this. I think the author made some incredible insights to what is referred to as The Mental Load. They addressed a lot of important issues that need to be talked about and handled it in a way that a variety of people should be able to understand. I will be supporting their future work for sure.

A great feminist and socialist nonfiction comic collection that discusses topics like police brutality, overworking, the male gaze, sexism, and the mental load (the disproportionate domestic labor gap between men and women in heterosexual couples). These comics are funny and clever as well as informative. This book was super accessible and fun to read! Highly recommend.

An interesting read that distills many feminist concepts into interesting and easily understandable comics! I liked Emma's tone and drawing style, and I appreciated her passion for this subject and for her activism.
