This should be categorized as a horror because damn this was spooky. Between the visceral reminders of what it means to be human, to the desolate and lonely depths of the protagonists pondering, this left me feeling both empty and full. I could simultaneously imagine the huge and vast plains but also feel so claustrophobic. The story telling was addictive in its simplicity and I enjoyed every single page.

I really wished the entire book that she would feel immense joy and community, and that feeling left me wanting to continue reading this book. The intrigue of navigating her mind as a reader who understands more of the older ladies perspective is so refreshing because we really can't imagine what it's like to be her. How crazy is that though?

Beautiful, terrifying, I loved it. I loved that the writing style was how the main character would write this book, loved that it was a more poetic version of the road, loved that it had a hopeful message. Great stuff and very unique.
