I read the entire series in three days. Still not as good as the first book. The author changed up her pattern slightly in this book and at first it was reading like a Hallmark movie. But then the serious stuff kicks in. What appeals to be most about these books is the wanderlust, you can always get me with travel.

4.25⭐

Book 3 in the Beck Sisters series ~ this is part of the series because Anna and Keane from [b:Float Plan|54017982|Float Plan|Trish Doller|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1606705274l/54017982._SY75_.jpg|74647106] are getting married. Carla is the best friend/maid of honor and Eamon is the brother/best man. Fine as a standalone, unless you'd like to meet Anna and Keane first.

Featuring ~ single 1st person POV, parent with dementia, steamage, insta~ish love, fast burn, YOLO

Carla & Eamon
Carla is living life to the fullest. She's always on the go traveling all around the world. Her latest trip is to Ireland for her best friends wedding. She meets, Eamon, the best man and they immediately hit it off and head back to his place for some whatnot.

Dementia really makes me sad. Luckily it has not affected my family, so I don't really know much about it, but I felt the author did a good job bringing realism to it. The flashbacks of the father/daughter relationship were heartwarming. I like that he taught her all the ins and outs of vehicle maintenance and repair.

Overall, I really enjoyed this one. There was a bit more steamage in this one then in the previous books ~ I'm not sure what's up with that, but I didn't hate it. It was cute, fun and the epitome of YOLO.

Narration:
Sarah Naughton ~ 6 hours 37 minutes ~ well done ~ perfectly listenable at 3x.

This is definitely my fav in the series! Maybe cause it had a bit more spice and a bit earlier on in the story?

Off The Map by Trish Doller is a delightful romance that takes you on a journey. Filled with travel, plenty of steam and a fun MC, this book was a absolute treat to read. I was hooked right from the beginning and I loved the Ireland setting. This story discusses dementia and the character of Biggie was written really well. Eamon is my new book boyfriend. I can't wait to read more from Trish! Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for a review. All opinions are my own.

Content: I went into this expecting it to be a romance and while that is present, the real story in my opinion is between Carla and her father. I do wish I could've had more angst between Carla and the love interest Eaman, I felt that some of their adventures were a bit contrived and the pacing not always compelling. What I did love was the insta-love/lust. I actually like a reverse card on the slow burn. While all that spice was appreciated, what was missing was that emotional build up and angst that could've added to the chemistry between characters. I felt like if the action is going to be instant, why not have their vulnerability be revealed at a slower pace?

Narration: Excellent narration! The accents are on point and having the Irish influence is really fun to listen to the audio version. I definitely recommend the audiobook of this.

CW for parent with dementia, this is a HUGE factor in this story and will pull at the heartstrings.

Thank you to NetGalley, Trish Doller, St. Martin's Press, MacMillan Audio and St. Martin's Griffin for providing me with an ALC copy of this book!

DNF by chapter two lol - was not a fan of the audiobook narration (if you can't do an Irish accent please just don't do one) and the the fact that her Irish characters sounded more English than Irish (see the use of 'bloke' instead of 'lad' and Magners instead of Bulmers???) If I wasn't Irish maybe I could have found it tolerable.

Trish Doller is a goddess! She has blessed us with another hilarious, emotional and spicy love story!
The third in a series, Carla is flying to Ireland to stand in her best friend’s (Anna from Float Plan) wedding. The adventure behind really begins the moment she lays eyes on the grooms brother. Adventure, emotional depth and witty banter, this book hits all the marks! I knew 25 pages into this book that it would be my favorite of the year!

The setting of this book really hit the spot for me. I love travel and seeing new places, and we had a quick 2.5 days in Ireland this summer, so I enjoyed that a good chunk of the book involved Carla and Eamon’s adventures on the emerald isle. We also got more of Anna and Keane (+ his family) as their wedding was the backdrop for the story. Much like Float Plan, Carla’s backstory will tug at your heartstrings. Her Dad’s health issues will be relatable to so many people. (I’m sad to say I’ve reached the age where a good chunk of our friend group discussions are now about aging family members and the trials and tribulations of that) I loved that the Defender and the Jeep were basically secondary characters in the book. That had me totally hooked. My only complaint is that I needed a bit more build in the chemistry. I felt like we almost jumped into that too fast. I needed a bit more preamble and feeling of that spark at the bar. Overall very much enjoyed, felt like a perfect summer vacation book.

I absolutely loved the characters and the storyline in this third installment by Trish Doller. Thank you to Macmillan for lending me an ARC. Carla's red Jeep was larger than life as 'Valentina' and the shenanigan's that Eamon and Carla got into were hilariously absurd but also meaningful. There were a few threads that didn't quite connect for me in the story such as why Carla would stay away from her father for 6 years if she loved him so much, while at the same time coming home in summers to work in Ft. Lauderdale. Overall it was a very enjoyable and quick read.

This was an enjoyable audiobook. First about the story: I expected this to be a fun read about a women traveling around Ireland and beyond. But what I got was something much more touching and sad: a woman dealing with a father with dementia. It was really good, just not quite the story I thought we would get. There is, of course, an insta-love romance in there as well. But to me that came second to the story of Carla and her dad.

And about the narration: I really enjoyed the narration. I did listen at 1.25 speed because I found it a bit slow paced. The narrator did a good job bringing in tones and inflections for the main characters voice. It really brought the emotions to life. And I though the narrator did very well with portraying both American and Irish accents.

This can easily be read as a standalone even though it is book #3 in a series.

Thank you to NetGalley, St. Martin's Press, and Macmillan Audio for an eARD of this audiobook!
