Carla Black is a traveler, working all winter to pay for her summer camping and off-roading around the world. In Ireland for her best friend's wedding, she meets Eamon, the best man, and there's an instant connection. But Carla doesn't want to be tied down. Her father, who gave her the travel bug, has dementia and wants her to see the world.
It's a lovely story about connections and finding one's family, blood or otherwise. Carla helps Eamon follow his dreams, and he provides the safety and love she constantly searched for but thought she didn't need.  They are a lovely couple, totally in sync with each other, and though it's an insta-love trope, I didn't mind it at all since it felt so genuine.
Any book set in Ireland is going to be lovely, but Carla and Eamon's adventures as they get side-tracked on the way to the wedding are just hysterically funny. The writing is solid, descriptive and touching, especially about Carla's relationship with her dad, Biggie. It's a great book and I heartily recommend it.

okay wait i really enjoyed this one. it really tugged at my heartstrings and had me with some tears towards the end. 4 stars!

tw: caregiver guilt, side character with dementia, side character death

having read the other books in this series, i was expecting it to be a little slower and full of grief but the pacing was a little faster with this one. still lots of grief. reading the quick start to where carla and eamon meet and how quickly they got together, i was enjoying it so much but in fear. you know when they get together and everything’s fun too fast and you just know something is about to happen. SIGH yeah.

carla and eamon were such fun and easygoing characters even with the impending doom that was bound to come. carla and eamon’s development taking them in different directions had my heartbreaking and carla’s travels back home made my heart ache. again, the pacing was definitely more my speed vs the other two in this series and the writing and characters just had me wanting to read more.

i also have never taken care of a loved one with dementia, this one seemed more mild in dementia cases of what i read outside of fiction books. doesn’t make it less hard but i just wanted to note that. it still broke my heart with the moments with her dad. it was sweet and heartbreaking. i cried forsure.

i enjoyed it although it was a choice to make carla’s mom who she was. i think most anything else could’ve been better for me. it just gave me the ick is all.

thank you netgalley and the publisher for sending me an arc for an honest review in return!

Another amazing book by Trish Doller that covers loss, finding your way, and gives a perfect HEA.

OFF THE MAP was sweet, steamy, hilarious, and completely engaging. I couldn't put it down!

I am a reader who does not ever believe Insta-Love. My very practical brain simply cannot handle it. But did I ever buy into when it came to Carla and Eamon! I am OB.SESSED.

These two are flawed, but so damn lovable. And talk about H-O-T! Were the other books in the series this steamy? Because Carla and Eamon were scorching my kindle. 🔥

And, just like with Float Plan, I absolutely cried while reading OFF THE MAP (very unusual for me). This author perfectly describes the messiness and beauty of grief.

OFF THE MAP is one of those rare books that I know will stay with me. I'll be thinking about all of these characters well beyond writing this review.

Massive bonus points for a heroine with short hair.

Now, stop what you're doing and add this book to your TBR immediately!

Another great read of this romance series. I loved that it takes place in Ireland (and talks of many places there) and also involves previous characters from the series (esp since in involves a wedding). While there is some serious/sad moments, they are balanced out well with funny, sweet and romantic moments.
