I haven't had a chance to read all the stories in this anthology, but I have no doubt that they are all going to be as amazing as Hyland's Property, by Felicity Brandon. The story is a prequel to her new series, Rage and Revenge, and takes place in the same world as her Dark Necessities series. That means it's a return to The Syndicate, at least in a one-off sort of way. It's fast paced, full of danger, dark, delicious, and has some twists that I didn't see coming. It is also part of a series so there is a cliffhanger, and I'm dying to get my hands on the next one.

I have read dark romances before, but the genre seems to have gotten progressively darker to me. At one time I was able to find SOMETHING redeemable in the book. Romance, A bit of sexiness, the H falls in love...something. This series of books has made me realize that it is time for me to let this genre go.

Some of the books were ok and some were just not to my taste. Especially the last book. If you are into humiliation and cliffhangers, it will work for you.

Each book is its own variation of enemy to lovers, non con or dubious con, mafia laden romance. Some include age play, one involves child abuse from the age of 14 to 20 something.

One book, His For the Keeping, started out to be interesting. As the story played out, it almost seemed to me like it morphed into a different story. From Navy SEAL who had no involvement in the family business to the head of a criminal enterprise that kinda sorta does good?

By the time I finished the last book, I was just irritated. I really did not expect that after making it through all of those books, the last one would end in a cliffhanger. The thing I found so frustrating was I wanted to know the outcome, but I guarantee you I won't be reading the 2 additional books to find out what happened. The humiliation the H endured was too much for this reader.

I didn't read Diamond because I had that book already.

My recommendation is that you read this anthology and judge for yourself. If you.enjoy various types of dark romance and forced marriages, this may be the book for you.

My review is only on His for the Keeping by RJ Gray. I've read a number of books by this author and have always enjoyed them, while acknowledging that I haven't always liked everything. This story is a perfect example. I loved the characters and the premise. I liked the interaction between Frankie and Shane. However, I found Shane's treatment of Frankie disrespectful at times. Should he really be surprised that she argues with him when he knowingly holds things back from her and keeps her in the dark?

Reading mad love was a spicy hot read with some hot and steamy scenes. Good writing from the writer.
