Let's be honest, only Nyla K can get me to pick up a book over 500 pages, let alone 700

Trouble by Nyla K is as incredible as the rest of her books. As usual, she tackles a subject that many authors avoid. This one is about a man who doesn't believe he can be in a relationship with the man he loves so he marries a woman and becomes a preacher. Obviously, there is much more to the story but it's a lovely second chance, with redemption, and finding one's truth.

this book was a little too much for me lol. i went into it feeling ready to embrace the cheating and taboo topics cuz it’s a dark romance not real life but i finished reading this book feeling annoyed. the back and forth between our main characters was frustrating to read and did really contribute to the story for me. i also felt like lance’s reaction to desiree’s abortion got was wrong. no matter how u feel about it dude, HER BODY HER FUCKING CHOICE . anywayssss the half-brother plot line was also too far for me. ive read and loved plenty of step-sibling romances and i feel like im hard to gross out but incest and incest-adjacent situations are something this book taught me i won’t enjoy . finally, i was also annoyed with lance in that he just completely stopped feeling guilty for cheating on his wife once he found out she was also a shitty person. like dude u cheated on her thinking she was a lovely and devoted wife, u should probably come to terms with what that says about urself . anyways i will continue to read nyla’s books bc i have absolutely loved some of her other stuff but this one was just not it for me and that’s ok.

Tate & Lance Hardy!
Really enjoyed this book. It’s always interesting to read about religion, faith, and spirituality in Nyla K’s books. The depth of her thoughts and approach is really impressive, and it’s something I e had to grapple with in my life. I loved Rate’s found family. I love Tate & Lance’s relationship development and long-time love story. And I love the angst! It really makes you feel deeply for the characters.

I really wanted to love this one because Nyla is one of the sweetest people in the world and For The Fans (and Alabaster Penitentiary) are literally top tier books for me so of course I was excited for Trouble.
I didn't hate it by any means but it lacked Nyla's sparkle that the books I mentioned have. I think it was an ok read, nothing necessarily wrong with it but I wish it had more sparkle.
Also, I didn't really believe they both loved eachother? like Tate obviously had the crush on him since forever but was it really love or lust?
