Didn’t grasp me right away. So listened to a couple more books and came back. Boy did it pick up and go where I had no idea it was going.

This book was so intense! It had some really graphic scenes of horrifying events that made me genuinely scared about the idea of my child being kidnapped. I can't even imagine the daily fear those parents live with. The twist with Paul was a nice touch, too. All the money in the world can't save monsters from getting what they deserve in the end.

My heart broke for both of the main female characters. They were both dealing with so much alone and to see them come together and save themselves and each other was amazing. It really did well at explaining a sister bond as well as how tragedy can be felt differently by everyone involved.
