The twists and turns in this book were absolutely insane. I could not stop reading. By the halfway mark I thought it was all figured out and then it wasn’t and then I thought it was and then it wasn’t again. And as a Georgia resident who went to school and lived in Atlanta for years, this felt far too real. But it was brilliantly done. I am going to go sit in my room and stare at the wall now trying to process what I just read.

Claire knew full well that there were things a man could do to a woman that didn’t kill her, but made her wish she was dead.
I hadn’t expected this book to be this dark, so do check trigger warnings before you dive in.
If this book reminded me one thing, it’s that the world is never safe for women. Although, I know it’s dangerous to stereotype based on gender, it’s still an undeniable fact that most oppressors are men.
I feel so much for the dad, though I also share the same sentiment to the other characters. Their miseries lasted on for so many years, and it’s definitely happening in the reality too. How many people are kept waiting and wondering cluelessly about a missing family, friend, or lover?
Anyway, it was predictable but it wasn’t a dealbreaker either. Although I am very much dissatisfied with how things concluded
