Creepy, twisted and warped. That is the only way to describe the story-line of this book. If those things appeal to you, then this book will keep you on the edge of your seat.

This book has so many twists and turns that I got dizzy. I listened to the audio book, it was about 18 hours, and it was worth every minute.
You don't know who to trust, outside of Claire and Lydia you don't trust anyone at all.
As the devastating truth unfolds you get angry, sad, sick and angry all over again. You truly feel for the Carroll family and everything they are feeling.
This book is very graphic and extremely violent, it deals with snuff films along with rape and torture. This could be a trigger so please be aware if you decide to start reading.
If you can handle the violence, the story is scary and worth the time to read and/or listen to.
Highly recommended.

Devastating AND devastatingly slow. Loved the focus on the family dynamics and the sister's relationships. Do not read if you are currently salty/fighting/angry in any way with your dad - the letters had me in my feels.
Probably a bit too much graphic violence but the way that I've heard this book talked about I thought there would be much more (thank god there wasn't). 

Somehow this book sensed when I was about to eat because that's always when I got to read the fucking snuff porn
