Gripping, grisly, gritty. Love the characters and the evolving story line.

This book has definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. I am surprised to say that I did not see that ending coming at all.

Slaughter never allows me to guess the killer right, it’s crazy. Why do the killers always confess to Lena, she’s been through it enough! That definitely docked a point. The characters forever stay messy because I’m constantly rubbing my head in their povs. Will still be continuing this series, can’t get enough

Another week, another KS re-read :)

This is the third book in the Grant County series by Karin Slaughter. We catch up with Sara, Jeffrey and Lena and of course there’s a death in town.

I’ve read this book before and loved it back then, as much as now. It’s not the best in the series, but that in no way detracts from the awesomeness of Sara and Jeffrey’s case solving skills. Karin writes this like the rest of her books, with suspense, gore and mystery. It isn’t for the faint hearted – like nearly all her books – they are graphic and bloody.

Okay I do love these characters- but this is becoming torture porn for these characters atp. Also, the misogyny is getting really bad. I have Slaughter the benefit of the doubt since the first two books were written so long ago, but they are not improving as they go on. The plot was intriguing enough, but I thought this felt like a filler book.
