Not the best of her books--but also a series I will keep reading. Some interesting new characters introduced.

Did not disappoint. I like the older Mags and Amily and their interactions. The increasing storyline around Lady Dia and now her husband Steveral is a welcome addition too.

Slightly better than the first one in this series, because the stakes of the conflict were actually high, but still not that interesting, and not Mercedes Lackey's best writing. Kirball isn't Quidditch; it doesn't really keep readers on the edges of their seats, especially when the match seemed put in there specifically to be the "action" that's appealing. I would also like to see the relationship between Mags and Amily better-developed, because I usually find after-happily-ever-after stories interesting.

This was my favorite of the series. It felt the least 'predictable', and I appreciated the characterization of the main villain. My main complaint was how fast it wrapped up at the very end, but that's really more part of Lackey's style than anything else - I don't think I would have noticed so much if i hadn't read so many of her books recently. Good cotton candy book to visit, not quite a complex enough world to try to live in.
