“Love isn’t something you can cup in your hands, and I have to believe that means it’s something that can’t ever be lost.”

So this book was definitely a different form of Emily Henry and I really enjoyed it. I would classify this as more contemporary than romance, and honestly, I loved to read this more poignant version of EH. I enjoyed the interview format and the back and forth with Alice and Hayden. Honestly wished for a few more pages at the end, but was still pleasantly surprised where it ended up. I can’t believe how many mixed reviews I saw. I liked it better than some of her other romances.

Overall, I highlighted so many beautiful lines and was pleasantly surprised by this book. Kind of hoping for more contemporary from EH.

4 stars

Agree with general consensus that it's kind of half-baked and tropey. Evelyn Hugo done not nearly as well. I got thru it but will probably forget it quickly.

i wish this book was more romance i was SO BORED with the story within the story plot and which Hayden and Alice got more time in the book to make it more of a romance novel. It got really good 95% into the book.

I liked the sentiment behind the novel and the themes it explored but felt like the first 2/3rds of the book was a somewhat slower pace than I wanted with both the romance & M Ives stories
