Pretty sick Joker story. Wicked Joker art. 4/5

I remember this getting a lot of hate when it first came out. Some of that was probably towards Geoff Johns, who I know has many detractors, and maybe towards event fatigue. I think that was a factor in me putting this off for a while.

But I’m glad I checked this out. It’s a tightly plotted, twisty turny, self contained story (from what I can tell at least). The art by Garry Frank is incredible. I can understand being turned off by the premise, but it worked for me.

My only complaint is that the story sets up something quite interesting with the Red Hood midway through the book. I know why it doesn’t play out the way that is teased, but I found myself wondering what that would look like, and I think it would have been more compelling.

Brief and to the point. Can't tell if this is current continuity, or not. But that's fine. The concept of the Three Jokers does "explain" the differing personalities of the Joker. I am more interested in reading more Red Hood as a result.

This was definitely different. Leave it to Johns to complicate the Batman mythos (in a good way).

I don’t like this version of the Joker, who sees himself as a symbol. He’s too self aware to be any fun.
