Tana French is such a great writer which makes it a bummer when her main characters are just cliches. Like truly sometimes the details seem like a parody of Irish cop lore. ACAB but some are more interesting characters than others!

Every book I read in between reading Tana French's books makes me angry that it isn't a Tana French book.
So very creepy and disturbing. I do hope Tana French keeps up the good work.
Honestly it’s my least favorite Tana French book so afar. It wasn’t an inherently bad book, but the characters weren’t sympathetic at all and seemed a little forced and two dimensional. I get the sense the publisher was pushing for another book. The first three were so incredibly good, so maybe I’m just spoiled.

I found this book much harder to get into than the other Dublin Murder Squad mysteries. The narrator, with his big ego and uptight rules, was tough to connect with. And yet, this one stayed with me a long time. It made me reflect on mental health, and the lengths we would go to to keep crazy out of our minds and lives.
