This was Asha and Hemaloās story. This one is different because they are both aliens and they had an established relationship before the start of the series, but they had been separated after the loss of their first child. In all the previous books Asha has been a really surly character that nobody really likes. And even though sheās clearly grieving, I didnāt really come around on her attitude and hostility towards everyone else. I felt like Hemalo was not caring for her like he should which seems to be the case with all of these barbarian aliens. They just seem to be really emotionally immature and donāt know how to handle other peoples emotions. Theyāre not cruel theyāre just very unaware. I donāt like it. The relationship slowly came around and they get a second chance at being parents, but I didnāt necessarily love this book and I donāt know why Iām still reading the series.
