Okay Ashley Flowers, you (and your ghost writer who you give credit to in the acknowledgements, but her name is escaping me, forgive me as I read the audiobook) redeemed yourself with this book because “All Good People Here” was just fine, but this was so much better. A real page-turner, with fun red herrings and shocking twists. These are better sisters than me though, I’m not gonna lie lol.

Objectively this book is a 3, but I absolutely loved it and think it’s a low 5. I’m settling on 4 ⭐️

I did not at all see the twist coming and I did not predict the ending. I had a completely different theory and was way off. I love that in a thriller.

This was a fantastic read and I found myself so excited to pick it up everyday. I hope Ashley Flowers writes more books because the two she has written so far are amazing!

It’s hard for me to rate this book because I want to give different ratings for the beginning and the end. The first 75% of the book was slow and took me a long time to get through. The last 25% of the book was amazing! And I finished it in one sitting. I definitely did not see the ending coming!

     It wasn’t a terrific book, mostly because I didn’t find any of the characters to be likable. They seem to have started as selfish and continued to get more so as the book progressed. The ending was a twist I didn’t see coming, while other “twists” were pretty obvious. 

    This book tackled a lot of hard topics, which made it an overall dark and sad book. I wish it had some glimmer of light in it. It’s quite a depressing read, to be honest. Overall, a decent thriller about bad people doing terrible things, with a lot of twists and turns. I appreciated the lack of a romantic storyline. 

Narrator Rating: 5.0 stars

     The narrator did an amazing job! Great voices for everyone that seemed to fit who they were.

I was really mad about the ending of Ashley's first book. I'm still mad about it today. Thus, I went into this one expecting to be mad again. As it turned out, I was- at first. But the more I think about the ending of this one, the more I actually really kind of like that it turns out to be something entirely different from what I was thinking throughout the entirety of the book. There were aspects of it that I did see coming, but many that I didn't as well. I really liked the main characters and the way their friendship developed throughout the book, and I found myself completely immersed in this one in a way that I wasn't with All Good People Here. It wasn't perfect, maybe, but it definitely showed a lot of growth in Ashley as a writer and I can't wait to see where she goes next!
