Really enjoyed this, even more so than the first one. But definitely good to read in close succession if you’re like me and can’t remember what was going on in the previous book.
Loved seeing the larger world and characters start to tie in together. And the larger enemies start to appear. Can’t wait to see where it all goes. The last 20% was insane.
Bring on book 3!

“There is a king in the city and a king in the hill” and our sword catcher Kel finds himself navigating both worlds.  It was quite the balancing act to navigate both worlds.  We also find out how much Connor has grown now that he feels the full weight of leadership.  I adore both of these characters as well as the whole cast of supporting characters.  Being King means that your life is not your own, your heart is not your own.  It seems sad and lonely …. But I’m eagerly awaiting the next book.
