I loved this book! As a girl’s girl and also someone who loved those early 2000s novels where girls became friends in kindergarten and by virtue of me being reading age I would never have friends like that, and as an advocate for when they go low you go lower, this book was it for me. A lot of reviews are saying that the book is slow, but they dont see the vision! The book, and the song is based on, isn’t a grizzly  thriller about killing, but about friends who would notice you weren’t okay and would do anything for you. The book is that Summertime dreamy, until it isn’t, and it was a really good read to me.

This book could have been shortened significantly… perhaps even to the length of a song. The number of fluff chapters and winding side plots and character arcs and backstories that amounted to nothing was bananas.

This was disappointing for me. Half-Blown Rose is one of my all time favorite book and this read like it wasn’t even written by the same author. The writing was mediocre and the pacing was so off. It started out strong but the pacing ruined the whole thing. Calling it a revenge novel made it sound like a thriller but this is an undramatic drama.

Was pretty slow, but a decent read and I liked the way it ended.

I didn’t *not* like it. But I didn’t love it. Too many of the scenes, especially the teenage scenes, felt like I was reading the script of a poorly done teen movie. Just kind of cheesy and tedious to read. But the story was pretty good overall.

not exactly what I expected it to be, but I did enjoy it! Great book about small towns and best friends.
