The premise sounded cute but the execution was not. It gave me nothing. The writing was bad and overall boring and flat. Genuinely felt like I was reading someone's first draft rather than a published story.
Needed a quick, cute read to get me out of my reading slump and this solved the dilemma. It was cute, quirky, and of course checked a lot of the boxes in a short time. I’m not sure if some of the other reviewers were aware, but this is for a series of short reads by authors so it’s meant to be short. I think for only 39-40 pages she covered a lot of ground in a little time. Now she could have finished off that last scene for me but still a fan.

1) Cute idea, and loved all the talk about the baked goods! But that was about it haha. I found the main characters annoying, but it’s just such a short story that there’s no time for any development. Might have been a better story if it was longer!

The beginning of these short books started out so strong, but slowly went downhill. Although this was not the worst it definitely was not the best. That being said if you want to have books that add to your final book count on Goodreads this is the series to do it.
