After powering though books 1-4, despite my own annoyance, I figured I might as well read this one. It was mildly interesting to hear from some of the secondary characters.
This one was really sweet, unlike the previous books which were infuriating at times. My favorite was definitely the bit from Smith’s perspective—how precious.
Overall, I like the concept and wouldn’t mind if more authors did something like this for beloved book series.
4 stars.
Audio:
I didn’t love the audio, but it could be worse.
3 stars.

I loved the series. I haven’t read it in a while and just wanted to see what this one was about. Not really necessary to read. Just gives some background on minor characters and some Hardin perspective. Nothing that’s really needed though. I wonder if it could be tandem read with the series?

I went into this book thinking that it was just going to be a retelling of After. It turns out that it was more than a retelling but at the same time I’m still a little disappointed because I expected more from this POV. One of the things I did enjoy about the book was that it gave a little backstory on some of the supporting characters. I must admit that Before was a lot better than After Ever Happy but it was still only an okay book for me.

This book is very good but also very slow and confusing
I really liked this book but it was also very slow and confusing And in My opinion you just have to read the 1st 4 books in this series and this is more like an extended epiloge
