it really saddens me to give this book 2 stars, especially since i loved girls of paper & fire so much.

the biggest issue here: this book was boring. it was so boring! it takes almost 250 pages for anything exciting to happen, and by then i was so

Some dude walked off a cliff because he wasn't watching where he stepped, and that's the most action the book had in 70 pages so I'll move on with my life now

I didn't enjoy this book as much as the first one. It felt repetitive and predictable. I'm not sure if I will read the next one

This wasn't as good as the first though I was still drawn in. The ending convinced me to keep reading it but one of the main characters made some questionable choices that it took me out of the story rather than keeping me in.

This novel was even better than its prequel. This is a must read for anyone who likes fantasy. There is a trigger warning for flashbacks to a non consensual incident from the first book.

I cannot wait to read the third in the series, I could not put this down. Sooo incredible!
