This is the book of my heart and I love my autistic nerdlings so much and cannot WAIT for you to meet them. That's all.

I enjoyed this book a lot more than I expected. Lovely characters.

This is an author who isn't getting the attention she deserves, presumably because she doesn't have a big-name publisher creating the hype and buzz that other books get.

When I looked at the Good Reads page for this book, I said, "Oh, yeah. A handful of reviews, all five-star raves. They must be the author's friends." (Yes, I can be cynical, no surprise there.) But the plot description and the setting were interesting enough to me that I decided to give it a chance. And oh boy did I fall in love with these three main characters.

I almost DNF'd the book early on because I really did not like Leni or Raymond. I only liked Raymond's sweet little boy Anton. But the author slowly, carefully reveals to us who these people really are and what they have been through that made them behave the way they do. Although I'd say the book is mostly character driven, the plot is very compelling as well. And the setting. Oh, the setting. Be sure to google images of the places in Argentina so you can get a feel for the backdrop of this story.

I did a hybrid reading, using both the audio and print versions of the book. Jayne Entwistle does an excellent job with the narration.

I'm very much looking forward to reading another novel by this author.
